The long-awaited replacement to the Daiwa Tanacom Bull, the Daiwa 23 Seapower Electric Reels are now available and ready to dominate the deep. Fitted with the same Megatorque motor that features in the popular Seaborg reels, Seapower outputs approximately 1.3 times the power compared to a conventional motor design. The Megatorque delivers smooth start up and excellent durability, and is custom designed by Daiwa to emphasise torque over all else. Sporting the same redesigned frame as the Daiwa Tanacom, the motor is now positioned inside the spool. This enables a more direct drive system with a redesigned planetary gear-set featuring much thicker & stronger gears to deliver all that power efficiently to the spool. The Daiwa 22 Seapower 66XXHST PE 8-12 Deep Drop Rod sports a blank constructed from Daiwas Glatech material,a combination of a carbon core wrapped perpendicular to the rod blankand longitudinal single axis fibreglass material which gives the rod the desired soft and shock absorbing nature. Since almost all fights areconducted with the rod in a gunwale rod holder, a softer blank action isdesirable for electric rods.

X45X Full Shield is also utilised to further enhance the torsional stiffness,a key component to dendoh rods which further reduces blank twist andeliminates power loss during the fight.Fuji Silicon Carbide SiC guides in a striking gold finish really set this rodout from the crowd. A heavy-duty ALPS swivelling roller tip controls the linefrom the tip preventing tangles and ensuring a perfect retrieve. Line – Dog Tooth Fluidcast X8 8 Carrier 80lb Braid

This line is ideal for deep dropping due to the 8 strand braid paired with the teflon coating, which combine to provide a round, thin and super smooth braid. Not only does the Teflon coating provide extra smoothness to the line, it also has water repellent properties so that the line doesn’t soak up too much water and become heavy and lose strength over time.

When deep dropping you need a smooth braid to minimise friction and heat generation in the line due to the heavy weights and fish being hauled up, which is exactly what the Dog Tooth Fluidcast X8 achieves.
